Reading readiness starts with Music Mind Games, Kristin Gore’s Mini-Book series and the Faber Sight Reading series. Young children do reading readiness games away from the keys from their first lessons. They sight read just behind their playing level, accelerating reading with fun activities and “catching up” as they approach Book 2. We use the Music Teacher Assoc. of California Reading books as well as the Burmuller Czerny and Hannon technique series by Ingrid Clarfield.
